The king had a very fine horse that loved to bath in a particular pond. But one day he refused to take a bath after repeated trials. This was because the pond water had become very dirty. Once the pond was clean he enjoyed his bath again. Moral : WE the children of the Lord should always keep our sorroundings, body and mind clean.
Bhajans

Section 1
It was a cold Sunday morning. We warmed ourselves with loud recitation of shlokas
We revised the first stanza of Gita. We encourage parents to help kids practice Gita at home for better participation.
After our yoga stretches and memory game; we settled down for circle time and learnt about letter c for cleanliness.
Cleanliness of surrounding, self and most importantly mind! It was surprising to hear little minds talk about what they thought could help keep minds clean. We listened to the story of the royal horse with great enthusiasm .
We enjoyed Our experiment with muddy water, clean water and dirty water. We learnt how cleanliness inside is as important as cleanliness outside.
We did a very wonderful craft work, scratching dirt off a paper. Once we cleaned the sheet, it revealed the picture of beautiful Ganesha
Time flew quickly and it was time to wind up with ending prayers and pledge.
Another wonderful Sunday class. We eagerly look forward to next week

The children chanted the shlokas and gita very well. Thanks to the parents half the kids know the verse1 pretty well. We want all parents to click on the gita link and listen to it.
With alphabet safari we did letter C. It was surprising to see how kids came up with words like choice, cooperation and concentration etc for letter C. When they discovered the balavihar word is Cleanliness. They came with innovative ways of cleaning and how they differentiated the types of cleaning between themselves and sorroundings. They were introduced to the concept of keeping your mind clean with good thoughts and being nice to friends and neighbours. So now cleaning was differentiated as cleaning our bodies our sorroundings and our inner self. Scratching the water soluble paint with paper towels they found the beautiful ganesha which surprisingly some kids related and came with the wonderful message as when you clean your minds you find god. We continued with bhajans and then calmed down with likita japa. We finally finished the day with our ending prayers and pledge.
