Section 1
It was an exciting to meet our little friends after a long winter break. The weather also seems to be getting better the first class in the new year was off to an exciting start . 3 Oms followed by opening slokas and a quick recap of our previous classes ,the kids surprised us by responding amazingly well. Our concentration shell game was excellent as almost every child focused silently for a minute and more and then did the correct counting.
Gita chanting requires more practices so we sincerely urge the parents to visit the blog and make the kids practice chapter 14 upto sloka 3.

We revised our alphabet Safari and learn I for intelligence and J for Japa.
We brainstormed about how our intellect helped us distinguish right and wrong and helped us make better decisions. We listened to the story of how Ganesha outsmarted Kartikeya to get the Heavenly fruit from Narada. The kids were very excited as the discussed how they used their intellect to do nice things for making parents happy and proud..
We also did letter J. Since we have been practicing Likita Japa, children knew that Japa is repeating Lords name many times with devotion.
We learnt how meditation and Japa helped calm our selves and how we could increase our focus and concentration. we did a memory game and it was really fun. We also did our bhajans and then ended with closing prayers and pledge. It was a wonderful class and we eagerly look forward to the next class.
Section 2
We started the day as usual with 3 aum's. Then we followed it with our normal shlokas . We spoke about Hanuman Jayanti and then introduced manojavam marutatulya vegham. After shlokas we did our bhagawat gita chanting. Some students continued practicing during holidays and they were much better than other kids. However our little one's who did not practice during holidays also were happily chanting first verse from their memory. Parents pls continue effort by making the little one's practice gita. We missed JQ Aunty in class today. We missed her most as we started our shell game and circle.
We then followed by our quiet activity shell game which the kids look forward to and do with great concentration. Then we did our alphabet safari. It was wonderful to see how kids remember all their alphabets and what it stands for. Thank you parents for making sure the kids remember. This is essential part of our kindergarten curriculum.
We proceeded with the letter of the week I for Intelligence. We first asked what is mind and intellect. Then we proceeded to the extended question where do we use our mind and where our intellect. We use our mind to think and we use our intellect to determine right from wrong. This we elaborated with example of how we should decide that bag full of candy can make us sick and how we should not be chewing our pencil etc.
We then followed with our tangram puzzle. Children came with new shapes as they got very interested. However they all took it back home so they could make more fun things with the tangrams. This was followed by likita japa. We did our closing prayers followed by pledge.
