Section 1

Even though the weather isn’t good, its great to see good attendance in class. W started the class with 3 oms followed by our slokas and warmed ourselves for gita chanting. We will be starting 4 th stanza in the next class and urge parents to practice at home.
Kids enjoy the concentration game and meditation with different sound levels of lord’s names.
We then revised the alphabets and brainstormed, letter K for Kindness. Children were enthusiastic as they discussed their little examples of being kind to parents, siblings and friends. We listened eagerly to the story of androcles and the lion. We learnt how being kind could bring good to you.
We also learnt Letter L for Love. Love and kindness went hand in hand. We learnt about love of god and how love could change anything from bad to good. We learnt about Mahatma Gandhi and his love for human kind. We also discussed the importance of Jan 26 as the Indian Republic Day.
We quickly did our bhajans and spend time relaxing with likita japa. We wrote om and Rama . Time was already up and we wrapped up with ending prayers and pledge.
Another beautiful Sunday class quickly ended and we look forward to the next one.

Section 2

After our 3 oms. We continued with our opening prayers. Children seem to have started practising at home after their hibernation as many of them could say all the shlokas other than Manojavam. We were also much better today with our gita chanting. Most of them could chant verse 1 and 2 of the gita. Yes we will repeat the shloka 3 one more class. But the kids are doing extremely well with your support.

As per our schedule we proceeded to shell game. The kids enjoyed and had fun counting shells and stayed quiet for 2 full minutes. As Jq aunty was using the music bowl she noticed the kids with their eyes closed did not stir the least little bit listening to the bowl for nearly 30 sec. With this amazing concentration we proceeded towards alphabet safari. We first revised all the letters from A to I. Then we did the letter for the day J for Japa.  We also learnt how japa helps us concentrate and gives us peace.

We followed this with a game. Each child was asked to tag the next child saying rama. At first it was done slowly and then we slowly picked up speed. As it became fast kids had to concentrate in order to stay in the circle(tab his/her friend in circle). We also passed the music bowl in the circle as children themselves saw the amazing bowl which produced the sound of om. They also felt the vibration of the bowl. We also discussed what was the meaning of om. After this we all got up to release our energy as we sang our favorite bhajan khaate bhi raam kaho, pite bhi raam kaho.

Finally we did our closing prayers and pledge. Thanks everyone for such a wonderful class. See you again next Sunday...until then stay warm..
