Story Time Focus: 'G' for God

-We discussed about who is God, where is God and what does God do. We told the story of a King who has these questions and orders his minister to find the answer within 41 days. Finally the minister's cook comes up and asks the King to sit in front of him as a student and asks for a brown cow, green grass and milk. Then he explains that God is the one who can make a brown cow eat green grass and give white milk. Then he asks for a lighted candle and asks where the light from the candle is. It is everywhere. Likewise God is everywhere. What can He do? He is the only one who can put a cook on the throne, the king below him and the minister on his knees.

Activity

We discussed how to do a simple puja as a way of thanking God. We actually showed the steps of a puja by performing a small Ganesha puja with their help.
First we visualise the God in our mind and then invoke Him in the idol.(Dhyayaami, Aavahayaami)
We offer Him a seat. (Aasanam samarpayaami)
We offer Him water to wash His feet. (Paadhyam samarpayaami)
Then we offer Him water to drink. (Arghyam Samarpayaami)
Then we offer Him water for inner purification (Aachamaniyam Samarpayaami).
Then we offer something sweet like honey, milk, sugar etc. (Madhuparkam Samarpayaami)
Then we offer water for His bath. (Snaanam samarpayaami)
Then we offer Him clothes. (Vastram samarpayaami)
Then we offer Him ornaments. (Aabharanam samarpayaami)
Then we offer Sandalpaste and Kumkumam. (Gandhaan Dhaarayaami, Gandhasyopari haridrakumkumam samarpayaami)
