Focus and Concentration Game: 2-3 minutes of silent focusing and counting of rocks thrown in a vessel.

Story Time Focus: 'K' for Kindness and 'L' for Love

Only a few children had memorized the Krishna Shloka from last week - they got special stickers. We would like all of them to get the special stickers next week. We also started a new Rama shloka today.

They learnt a new Bhajan today with actions. We have done only half, we will continue with it in the next class.

We did Rama Japa for 2 minutes before doing the focus game.

After a quick recap of all the Alphabets done so far in our Alphabet Safari (A-J), we moved to the letter 'K'. We discussed what kindness means.

Asha Aunty told the story of Androcles and the Lion. All of them were so fascinated by the story that they wanted to hear it once more!

We then moved to the next letter in the alphabet 'L' for love. We discussed how we can show that we love someone.

They heard the story of how Gandhiji once invited a thief who had been caught redhanded, to eat lunch with them before deciding what to do with him. The love shown him moved the thief so much that he became a good person and stayed with Gandhiji forever.

We then did Likhita Japa. They learned to write Rama in the Devanagari script.We were really amazed at how quickly they learned it. They were supposed to trace it and write 5 times but most of them wrote atleast 15 or 20 times!

We then did an Origami Heart project. It turned out very well and they decorated it with stickers and wrote not just their names but also Ram and Om on it!

Geeta Chanting Chapter - 11

Reviewed the first 4 shlokas quickly and practiced the 5th a few times. Parents , it would be very useful if the kids listen to these verses on a daily basis. Please click here to go to the Geeta chanting blog where the audio is available.
