Comments:
After attendance, it was time for Geeta chanting. We had 5 kids who came up front to chant all by themselves. Initially they said they will chant the first shloka, but to our surprise, they went up to 5. We revised all the 3 shlokas with the class again.
Our class has to memorize 8 shlokas for the Geeta competition.
For additional practice classes, you can bring your child to Vrindavan Ashram on Friday evenings at 7.00PM.
The shlokas are printed in the parent handbook given at the beginning of the year. Audio CD's are also available, please check with the admin staff. You can help them practice the shlokas at home.
For quiet time we played the coin counting game. This game is a favourite among all kids. The moment they see the coin box, we can see their great enthusiasm to play the game.
REMINDERS:
Please practice the shlokas and Geeta at home with the children.
Please take the children to the restroom before the class.
Please do not send in any bags or folders with them.
If you have any spare art supplies, like markers, gel pens, glue sticks, clay etc please donate them to the class.

We started off our class with OM chanting and prayers. We chanted the Shlokas for this year so far - Ekadantam Mahaakaayam and Mookam Karothi Vachalam for Sri Krishna. The shlokas are given at the beginning of this post. Please practice with the children.

Before we moved to the new letter in our alphabet safari, we spent a few minutes reviewing the letters we learnt so far(A to E). Our new letter is 'F' for friendship. We discussed what qualities will help us make friends and what will not.
The activity for the day was to draw their best friend on a piece of paper. We asked them to crumple it, the whole class was very reluctant to do so. They thought it was not fair to crumple the paper. We had to convince them , that it was part of the activity. We told them to smooth it back to how it was before. They realized it cannot be done. The moral was similarly if we did something bad to our friend, it will be very difficult to undo.

We told them the story of the friendship between Krishna and Sudama. Krishna helped Sudama even without being asked. We discussed how Krishna is our friend too and when we feel lonely and when we are in trouble we can always depend on Him to help us.
We were grateful to have Sangeeta's mom around to help us in class. Thanks to all the parents who help setup and clean up before and after the class every week.

We started off with our regular beginning prayers and revised our two new Shlokas for this year so far - Ekadantam Mahaakaayam and Mookam Karothi Vachalam for Sri Krishna. The shlokas are given at the beginning of this post. Please practice with the children.
As usual, the children sang the two Bhajans with enthusiasm. We will soon have to start a new Bhajan! After attendance, we reviewed the Geeta Shlokas and started the third shloka. Our class has to memorize 8 shlokas for the Geeta competition. We want all our children to register for the competition. Hope you can help them practice it at home. The shlokas are printed in the parent handbook given at the beginning of the year.

We did the Likhita Japa. This week after writing a few 'Om's, we learnt to write 'Ram' in devanagari script. They all did a very good job. We will keep practicing it in the coming weeks.
We were grateful to have Aarush's mom around to help us in class. Thanks too to all the parents who help setup and clean up before and after the class every week.
