Comments:
We started two new Shlokas for Raama (given above) after we did the regular ones.
We chanted the first 4 shlokas of the Gitaa, together
The kids chanted the first two shlokas, by themselves. We will ask them to chant the first 3 shlokas in the next class.
The alphabet for the day was L for LOVE.
The moment we said L is for love, some kids made weird faces, they thought it was yucky.
Hence we did a lot of brain storming with them to convince What is Love( it is fondness and warm affection). How we express Love(good behavior towards all. serving others, hugs and kisses etc.,) and Who loves us the most (GOD, he gives us the most, without expecting anything in return)
Story time was about Gandhiji's love towards a thief, that changed him to a good person. We told the kids who Gandhiji was, since they did not know about him.
During activity time, the kids made an origami heart.
See you all next week and remember to pick up the kids at the front of the auditorium after the pledge.
REMINDERS:
Please practice the shlokas and Geeta at home with the children.
Please take the children to the restroom before the class.
Please do not send in any bags or folders with them.
If you have any spare art supplies, like markers, gel pens, glue sticks, clay etc please donate them to the class.

(SECTION 2)
Comments:
We started two new Shlokas for Raama (given above) after we did the regular ones. We did our Bhajans as usual and tried to add some new lines to Khate bhi Ram Kaho - we will continue it in the next class. The girls wanted to add 'dancing' but the boys were not willing :-)
After reviewing the first four Shlokas of the Gita, we started the 5th one. We went over all the alphabets we have covered so far and then moved on to 'L' for Love. We discussed what is love, how we express it (by being nice, sharing, being kind, helpful, hugs and kisses, giving). We told them the story of how once Gandhiji showed love towards a thief and that changed the man and he became good. If someone gives us something without expecting anything in return, it means they love us. Who gives us the most? God does. So God loves us all. God is Love.
They learnt to make an origami heart today. We first tried it with a small white paper and then did it with a color paper. It came out beautifully even if they needed a little bit help in some parts :-)
Please remember to take the kids to the bathroom before class - we had too many bathroom breaks today. We were glad to have Raghav's dad helping in class. Also, please do not send in any books, bags or toys - the children are too distracted to pay any attention. Thank you for your cooperation.
See you all next week and remember to pick up the kids at the front of the auditorium after the pledge.
