The next Balavihar Class is on September 23rd 2012 at Cross Roads Middle School.
Section 1 meets at Room 106 (Sevikas : Shubhangi and Reshma)

We had a wonderful start to the Balavihar KG class today at Cross Roads. Once the children got to the class from the auditorium we split them into two sections. Here is a quick summary of what we did on our first Sunday .

Section 1
We started the class with OM and opening prayers, Sahanavavatu. We then learnt some part of the bhajan Ganapati Ganapati. All the children then got to know their classmates' names. We thank Usha Aunty for volunteering today. She was so much fun and helped us know and write Ganesha's mother, father and brother. We all enjoyed the story of Ganesha and Kartikeya competing for the championship and then showed off our coloring skills by coloring Ganesha.
Section 2
We started the class chanting OM followed by our opening prayers. It was wonderful to see the children full of energy as they participated with lot of enthusiasm. We identified each gods name before we said each shloka and children remembered their shlokas very well. Arjun one of our little friends also took the lead to say Budhir Balam. We spoke about our favorite god Ganesha's birthday and we shared our birthdays with the class as we introduced ourselves. Our last acivity was coloring dancing ganesha which the children enjoyed a lot.
