Section 1

It was good to see all the children after a break. We started with slokas. Children are picking up slokas very well. However they have not revised their Gita. Parents please make the kids practice at home using the CD or use the online tool link on the blog. This week’s letter was D for Daddy. We discussed what roles Dads play in our children’s life. They told us how their Daddys tickle them, play with them, take them to classes, and cook for them. We also gave them a questionnaire, which they need to bring in next week. We also discussed about Diwali and could see the excitement. Children made beautiful Diwali cards. Thank you Prarthana aunty for your support. You help the class run smoothly.

Section 2

Today balavihar was after a break for sandy. The children had lot of stories to tell about their experiences with hurricane sandy and how it impacted them with no power no school. We started our class today with 2 friends at a time taking the lead  for the opening prayers and also for Gita verse 1. This was a unique experience. We plan to continue this so that our little friends get more confident.

We followed this with a quick recap of A for aspiration and B for brotherhood(as we recapped brotherhood we talked about how neighbourhoods got affected by sandy and how people helped us and how we reached out to others), C for cleanliness. We followed this with our new letter of the day D for Daddy. The children started saying what they enjoy doing with their daddy play, sleep, eat, read with them. How he is kind, loving, caring and protective. We then discussed about Diwali the festival of lights. Then the kids made beautiful Diwali cards.
