Bhajans

Game: Simon Says

Geeta Chanting: Chapter XI first 6 shlokas. Click here for the audio and script.

Story Time Focus: 'O' for Obedience

We started as usual reviewing all the Shlokas. We then repeated the new shlokas a few times so that they can memorize it. We then continued with the Come Here My Dear Krishna Bhajan. They seem to love this Bhajan and were very enthusiastic learning the actions. We still have one more stanza to learn. We will continue in the next class.
We encouraged more kids to come up in small groups to chant the Gita verses. A few have memorized all 6, but many of them seem to know the first four, and some of them atleast the first couple of verses. If they can consistently practice at home, that would be wonderful. We want all the children to be registered for the Geeta Chanting competition on April 24th. There is an icecream party for the class with the most number of registrations. Please register your children asap so that they will have the motivation to practice it regularly.
Our letter of the day was a little bit difficult to guess today, it was hard to come up with anything other than octopus :-) So we played the game, Simon says, to guess the word and it worked! We had a short discussion on why we need rules, and why children need to obey their parents and elders and not the other way around. :-)
Asha Aunty told the story of Lord Rama to illustrate how obedient He was in following Sage Viswamitra to the forest. They all eagerly did their Likhita Japa and the class was absolutely quiet during that time! Since it was a short class, it was soon time to pack up and go to the auditorium.

Closing Prayers

Reminders

Please take the children to the restroom before the class.

Please do not send in any bags or folders with them. They don't need it as we have the workbooks they require.
