A review of all the Shlokas learnt so far were done. We then repeated the new shlokas a few times so that they can memorize them.
The 'Come Here My Dear Krishna' Bhajan is very dear to the kids. They have learnt this rather quickly alongwith actions. We will continue to learn and memorize this in the next class as well.
Aunties were proud to see that a few kids have memorized all 6 verses of the Geeta. Most of the kids however know the first 2 verses fully. If parents can help them practice at home, that would be a big boost to their learning.
As reminders have been emailed alongwith the registration links, We hope all the kids have been registered for the Geeta Chanting competition on April 23rd. If not, please do so today.
Story Time and Letter(s) of the day: 'R', 'S'
The kids were wondering why on earth we skipped 'P' and 'Q' and jumped to 'R' and 'S'. They were satisfied to hear that 'P' stands for Prayer and 'Q' stands for Quiet and that they will be discussed at the very end. We offer 'Prayer' with a 'Quiet' sense of gratitude after the whole safari is done, thanking the Lord for EVERYTHING we've learnt so far, and for everything we have.
They learnt the importance of doing the 'Right' thing always and at all circumstances, whether they're being watched or were alone. This was illustrated with the help of the 'The Little boy and the Rock' story, where a little boy does the right thing by moving a large rock out of the road, and thereby preventing accidents. He was rewarded by the King who watched everything hiding behind a tree. The kids now understand that doing the right thing always has its rewards, sooner or later.
The letter 'S' for Smile taught them how a wonderful million dollar smile saves the day. You do not have to pay anything to smile, so smile freely and make others smile, since it can be contagious!!!!
Activity: Molding a Shiva Linga
On March 2nd we celebrated 'Shiva Rathri'. The kids were taught to make little Shiva Lingas with Clay and decorate them with Sequins. They were told to keep them safely at home. All the activities/craft work that are done in the class will be needed for display on the annual day (June 12th). Parents, pls remind them to keep their work, away from little siblings and pets. :-).
