Most of the kids now know the first 2 verses fully. If parents can help them practice at home, that would be a big boost to their learning.
As reminders have been emailed alongwith the registration links, We hope all the kids have been registered for the Geeta Chanting competition on April 23rd. If not, please do so today.
Story Time and Letter(s) of the day: 'T', 'U'
Moving on in our Alphabet Safari, we arrive at the letter 'T', that stands for Truth and letter 'U' for Unity.
'The Boy who cried Wolf' story, though familiar to some of the kids, helped to explain to them, why it is important to always say the truth and stand by it. They realized that if the boy had always told the truth, the villagers would have believed him more and would have come in time to rescue the sheep. Well, the boy finally realized his folly and learnt a lesson , and so did our children, alongwith him.
The 'Doves' story helped he children understand the slogan 'United we Stand, Divided we Fall'. Always working together, we are stronger, more efficient and faster. This lesson was re-inforced by the activity for the day (described below).
The children will be happy to share all these wonderful stories with you, please ask them to do so......
Activity: "Unity gives Strength"
With the help of folding and re-folding a single sheet of paper, and then having the kids to try and tear them apart, it was demonstrated that the more number of papers stacked together, however small they might be, the harder it is to tear them apart. The small bits of paper were together 'United', so it was difficult to tear them apart. On the other hand, it was really easy to tear them when they were separated out. So 'Unity gives Strength' was clear to them.
