Section 1
We started a beautiful Sunday morning class by chanting the OM prayer. Most of our friends walked to the front of the class to confidently sing the shlokas and also the bhajans. we encourage the parents to continue practising at home the new shlokas and bhajans. We reviewed 'Great God Ganapathy ' from last year and also learned a new krishna Bhajan , ' Come here , Come here , my dear Krishna kanaihya' . The children were very enthusiastic in learning the new action song. The children were also getting comfortable with the geetha chanting. We would like to thank Rupa Aunty (Nethra's mom) for helping us with class today.
The alphabet safari took us to the letter B today learning about BROTHERHOOD which is a sense of togetherness among family, neighbors and the world itself. We learnt that Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam means the whole earth, the whole world is one family.
We listened intensely to the story of the crayons in the toy store and also the stone soup. We learned that we should appreciate one another and live in brotherhood spirit.
We spoke about navarathri celebrations, and then moved to the auditorium for aarthi and pledge

Section 2
After we did our shlokas, bhajan and gita we today, discussed about Navaratri and asked if our friends had heard about the festival. We also spoke about how we worship Goddess Durga, Lakshmi and Saraswati the following nine days. As children started sharing with the class what they do we discussed how in different parts of India the festival is celebrated differently like playing dandiya in the west, like Durga puja in the east and Dushera in north and Navaratri in the south of India. We would like to thank Suneeta Aunty ( Ashrit's mom) for helping us with the class today.
As part of theme of the day we brought them into the concept of brotherhood. Taking it from family, neighbourhood. Family relatives how we are related and we care for each other. Then we took our next step as we discussed about nations neighbouring nations friendly nations and brotherhood. We also talked about how we help people who are less fortunate. We also told them we are all going to join in Mercer county park the week after sunday for Balavihar class followed by walking for our less fortunate friends in India.
We had our closing prayers and pledge at the auditorium today. We request all parents to contribute $5 for the activity book to the sevikas. The children have started using the books and they will be used through the year.
