Section 1.
It was wonderful to see everyone after a long break. As usual we started with slokas and Geeta. It was amazing to see children come up and recite the Gita. “Good Job all kiddos”. After revising the letters of the alphabet safari we discussed the letter of the day “I for Intelligence”. We learnt the meaning of mind and intellect. We enjoyed the stories of Ganesha and Kartikeya and Akbar Birbal. Today the children were very well behaved for the story time and listened to the story with concentration. We are so proud of them and it is a joy to teach them. We colored the 2013 coloring page and talked about our New Year resolution. Some wanted to be more sharing this year while others wanted to help their mom and dad cook. Hridya wanted to save the world by not littering trash. How thoughtful of these kids! They have so much in their little minds we never knew
Section 2.
We had an enthusiastic class today with little friends volunteering to take lead for bhajans, shlokas and gita. We chanted the third verse multiple times since we will move on to the 4th verse next week. We encourage the parents to ask children to listen to first three verses using the online tool sso the kids can memorise it. We then did our letter for the day I for Intelligence. Since most of them knew the story it was an interactive story time with many of them participating in telling the details of the story. This made it very interesting. We then played our shell game, OM likita japa and followed by coloring new year page. Many friends had to use rest room and wanted a drink of water. It would be great if parents can send water bottle with them.
The students from Kindergarten have been asked to be part of the Seva project in January instead of December conducted by CORD. We would be passing them to CORD representatives next week. So, if any one else would like to contribute please pass on your contribution to the sevikas.
CORD works locally with Trenton Area Soup Kitchen(TASK) on various local Seva projects such as winter coat drive, Thanks giving baskets, school supplies drive etc. In connection with this, our class has been allotted the Seva project of donating socks to the homeless shelter. We are required to donate unisex tube socks. We have decided to take monetary contribution from the parents and buy the socks. They work out to $5.00/2pairs. Since our Seva Project is now scheduled for January. We are planning to purchase the socks and give it to the CORD team on January 13th. Pls. come with your contribution when you come on the 6th. Thank you very much. Your help and support are much appreciated
We wish all the students and parents happy holidays. See you all back on 6th January.
