It was a cold snowy Sunday morning but most of our friends arrived early. We warmed ourselves with starting prayers and bhajans. Most of the kids seemed to do well the first 3 paras of gita and we practiced 4 and 5 stanza. We highly encourage parents to practice gita at home and increase their confidence.
The children did an excellent work recollecting all the letters of the alphabet safari as we moved on to letter L, for Love.
We made small love cards for our family to express love and affection. We then completed our work books and prepared to hear the story.
Since it was L for love and Valentines day was coming up , we learnt about Saint Valentine was commemorated on Feb 14 and how it came to be known as Valentines day.
We also heard the story of Mahatma Gandhi, Father of our Nation who loved all his children alike and promoted non violence.
The children listened to Gandhiji story with enthusiasm and interest and wanted to hear more. As time ran out we did our finishing prayers and pledge and was ready to go home.
It was another wonderful class and we all had a great time
We also thank our parent volunteer, Dhruv's mom for being so helpful.
Section 2
We had cold and snowy morning. This however did not make the kids stay home we had more than 90% attendance. The children with cheerfuly and enthusiastically started the day with their shlokas and bhajans. Most of the children know how to chant first 3 shlokas of gita. We repeated in groups the 4th shloka and learnt the 5th shloka today. Parents please do make them practise their gita by listening online at our blog or the CD. We then had our story time when we talked about Gandhiji's love for everybody and how love is so important in our lives. We also listened to the story of how teacher was so happy with the student who always loved and respected the teacher by always doing the work he is assigned. We also did coloring of our Love page in alphabet safari book.
The students participation in the class made the class made it extra special.
